Pakistan’s tourism industry will boost in the summer of 2023
A country with four seasons, 24 rivers, a giant Arabian Sea, around 60 narrow and magnificent lakes full of nature and natural beauty, mountain ranges like Himalayan, Hindu Kush, and Karakoram, and 5 out of 23 deserts in the world. All these are just the tip of the iceberg.
There is also religious diversity in Pakistan. Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Ismailis, and Zoroastrians make this land more and more diverse. To explore this incredible diversity, join the Pakistan’s biggest tourism community. The tourism business is supposed to reach yearly growth of 5.8% till 2023, with an increase of 2.7% in the world GDP.
It will also help to create more than 120 million jobs in different markets. In 2019, the tourism industry was 10th of the global GDP, but suddenly Covid-19 came and ruined every business. Also, it damaged the tourism industry by $9.6 trillion and attacked more than 60 million jobs. This virus rigorously damaged the tourism industry all over the world.
President World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Julia said, “the recovery is going to be so stellar that it’s going to recover powerfully. This does depend of course on China reopening”. The GDP of the tourism industry will hit $8.35 trillion this year and $9.6 trillion by 2023, a re-visitation of its pre-pandemic level.
Also, there is an estimation of jobs to 300 million this year and 324 million in 2023, as mentioned by WTTC. In Asia-Pacific alone, the tourism business will probably hit $3 trillion by the end of 2023. The travel and tourism industry in Pakistan is estimated at USD 2.5 billion, which will go up to USD 4 billion in the next four years, from 2023 to 2026.
Tourism in Pakistan is not just about appealing destinations but has arisen as one of the giant sources of income for the shaking economy of Pakistan. The tourism governing body on a state level is doing all to empower the travel and tourism in Pakistan and produce maximum business value.
Moreover, 300,000 jobs have been created in this industry, which will increase to half a million in the coming years. Government official related to the tourism ministry says that “the promotion of tourism will not only create economic activity in the local areas but will also have a positive impact on the national economy”.
The Ministry of tourism is taking a lot of interest in revolutionizing the way of life and experience through tourism in Pakistan. Also, they want to utilize religious tourism to increase revenue. More tourist destinations have been explored through public-private partnerships.
Construction of roads to those destinations and the process of their protection is also going on. Adequate measures have also been taken to promote religious tourism. The tourism ministry administration is also working with private tour operators, working with more tourism expos to show the soft image of Pakistan to the larger canvas.
The tourism ministry is also trying to improve aviation to control the rates of airlines for the fair promotion of tourism in Pakistan. There is a dire need to allow the airlines of neighbouring countries to use the airspace of Pakistan. It will also help to create fair and healthy competition between the airlines.
Pakistan is among the few nations confronting the most consequences of climate change because of the effects of global warming and environmental change. Due to such disasters, many heritage sites are on the verge of damage and chaos. Pakistan Tourism and Development Corporation (PTDC) held a two-day gathering in Islamabad to mark World Tourism Day, which was praised consistently on 27th September every year.
Specialists from the travel and tour industry took part in five board conversations to examine points, including reclamation of the travel industry after floods and eliminating bottlenecks to advance foreign tourism in Pakistan.
